Emotionally, Socially and Creatively
At LAHC, we provide evidence-based programs in social-emotional development and interpersonal skills that empower youth ages 5–17 to build confidence, resilience, and self-management. Through hands-on activities, creative expression, and trauma-informed practices, participants strengthen coping strategies, social competencies, and emotional well-being—preparing them to thrive at school, home, and in the community.
Over 92% of participants show measurable improvements in emotional regulation, social skills, and coping strategies—demonstrating the impact of our results-driven programs.
Program Offerings
Thrive & Bloom SEL Series
An interactive social-emotional learning program for school-aged youth. Students gain skills to:
- Manage emotions and develop coping strategies
- Strengthen problem-solving and decision-making
- Build positive peer relationships
Expressive Arts & Therapeutic Gardening
Combining hands-on gardening, creative arts, and self-care, this program supports mindfulness and emotional growth. Students explore:
- Creative self-expression through art and nature
- Teamwork and positive social interactions
- Stress management and trauma-informed coping strategies
Friendship Foundations – Social Skills
An evidence-based program helping youth develop essential social competencies through interactive activities. Participants practice:
- Effective communication and empathy
- Conflict resolution and teamwork
- Emotional regulation and coping strategies
Parent Training & Behavior Support
Hands-on workshops for caregivers reinforce positive behaviors and coping strategies at home. Topics include: emotional regulation, resilience, social skills, communication, problem-solving, media and mental health, self-care, understanding your child or teen, and crucial conversations.
Workshops are offered on-site or virtually and tailored to each family’s needs.
Nurture & Play Facilitated Parent Play Groups
For caregivers with early learners ages 2–5 years
An 8-part therapeutic play series that helps caregivers use play to build skills, strengthen emotional connections, and support developmental growth. Rooted in applied behavior principles and delivered through a coaching model, caregivers gain practical strategies to embed learning into daily routines through both structured and naturalistic play.
Program Objectives:
- Support understanding of play’s role in skill development
- Teach strategies for communication, functional play, and social-emotional regulation
- Enhance caregiver capacity to create learning opportunities in daily life
- Promote caregiver self-awareness, self-care, and emotional regulation
Impact
Our programs support youth who face challenges with social interactions, anxiety, and understanding or responding to social cues. Participants gain measurable improvements in emotional regulation, social skills, coping strategies, and resilience, preparing them to navigate challenges confidently.
