LaTrina, LAHC Workforce Development success story

LaTrina came to LAHC while unemployed, seeking workforce development services to transition into administrative and Human Resources roles. She needed support strengthening her resume, improving digital skills, and accessing job placement opportunities.

Through LAHC’s Workforce Development program, LaTrina received comprehensive career support, including:

  • Career readiness services focused on administrative and HR pathways
  • Resume development and tailoring to better highlight her experience
  • Digital literacy training, which she successfully completed
  • Supportive services referral to partners at SEMCA for Return to Work (RTW) and Training/Employment-related support
  • Participation in the LAHC Resource and Career Fair (February 2026)
  • Job search and interview preparation support

LaTrina successfully interviewed for a position in early 2026 and received a job offer. LaTrina is now employed as a Permanent Housing Manager with a partner nonprofit organization, Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency. Her journey highlights how coordinated career coaching, digital skills training, and supportive services can help individuals move from unemployment into stable, purpose-driven careers in the nonprofit and human services sector.
