About Us

LAHC — Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities

LAHC – Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities was founded in 1982 in Dearborn, Michigan, as an athletic organization that provided community members with opportunities to connect, build relationships, and participate in recreational soccer.

As the community grew and evolved, LAHC expanded its services to address emerging social, educational, health, and economic challenges.

Over the past four decades, LAHC has grown into a comprehensive human services organization dedicated to improving quality of life for individuals and families across Southeast Michigan.

Today, LAHC serves nearly 80,000 individuals annually through programs and services including:

  • Youth Development
  • Scholarship Programs
  • Mental Health Services
  • Developmental Disabilities & Autism Supports
  • Nutrition Education
  • Health & Wellness
  • Parenting Programs
  • Digital Literacy
  • Financial Literacy
  • Substance Use Prevention
  • Juvenile Justice Programs
  • Workforce Development
  • ESL Education
  • Housing Assistance
  • Food Distribution

Through collaboration, advocacy, and direct service, LAHC works to reduce barriers, expand opportunities, and improve outcomes for underserved communities.
