Youth and Education Program Coordinator
Full Time Position: $36,000 – 40,000 + benefits
As the program coordinator of LAHC’s Education and Youth Development department, this leadership position involves working closely with colleagues and community partners to promote and provide department programming related to increasing post-secondary and occupational obtainment of adult learns and youth. This department oversees the organization’s youth leadership, scholarship, and digital literacy programming, as well as LAHC’s ESL partnership with the local school district. This position is expected to perform routine procedures, as well as other work with substantial variety and complexity.
Required MINIMUM Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to travel to sites across Southeast Michigan
- Pass a criminal and driving background check
- Education/facilitation experience (online/virtual and in-person)
- At least one year of leadership experience in public health, social work, human services, or related fields
Desired qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, as well as Google Suite
- Fluent in Spanish, or Arabic
- Commitment to personalizing learning for all program participants to ensure success
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with community partners (ex. schools and organizations), as well as participants
- Supports learning through basic troubleshooting in a digital classroom environment
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to new technologies
- Experience supporting adults in the use of technology
- Ability to lead and collaborate with team members to development educational resources and delegate tasks
- Provide input on class facilitation, class flow, and knowledge retention through survey implementation
- Report on findings generated by qualitative and quantitative data acquired during programming
- Develop and present education materials
- Prepare and distribute materials related to program promotion to community members and partners
- Competency related to the cultures of the communities being served
- Other duties as requested
